James Turney murdered of Elizabeth Williamson 32.

James Turney, who was also known as Edmund Tucker or Joseph Tucker set Elizabeth Williamson on fire. She died from burns a while later in hospital burns to her head and top body.

He had returned home to where they lived at 38 Trumpet Street, Nottingham around 11pm and became annoyed that she was not drunk like him and took a parrafin lamp and poured the parrafin over her and then set it alight. Before setting her on fire he kicked her to the floor. She survived long enough to tell the police what happened.

After he set her on fire the neighbours heard her screaming and came to her aid with water. One of the neighbours said that he looked through the window and saw Elizabeth Williamson and shouted 'she's burning' and James Turney replied 'let the bugger burn'. The neighbour said that James Turney was doing nothing to help her.

They had been living together for around 8-9 years.
